WILLIAMS CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH

At a Church nearly as old as the country itself, members of the Burkhalter Chapter, William Marsh Chapter and Sequoyah Chapter NSDAR gathered to honor and remember DAR Patriot Joel Walker and his family.
The original 1787 Williams Creek Church was built next to the creek on lower ground with the cemetery.
This stone marker was placed in loving memory of:
Joel Walker (1756-1800) DAR Patriot,
his wife- Holly Berry (Persons) Walker (1765-1846)
their daughter- Cynthia (Walker) Brown
(1799-1834)
and Holly's Mother- Prudence (Jones) Person Bass
(1740-1798).
All buried in the original cemetery by the creek.
